The only classic Ferrari you will ever need

1967 Ferrari 275GTB/4

We would suggest that, of all the wondrous road cars that made their way out of the Maranello factory gates during Enzo Ferrari’s lifetime, it is perhaps the 275GTB/4 that best captures his vision of all a Ferrari road car should be.

There is the beauty of a car without a single inelegant angle or wasted line, its incomparable shape the unmistakeable work of the Pininfarina design house in its finest phase. There is the Colombo-designed V12 engine which, in 3.3-litre, four camshaft configuration was the ultimate manifestation of perhaps the most famous road racing engine of them all, an engine with multiple Le Mans wins to its name and, here, with 300bhp at no fewer than 8000rpm. Unlike earlier Ferrari road cars, it has classic double wishbone suspension at each corner and disc brakes too, while its superb dogleg five speed gearbox is mounted as a transaxle between the rear wheels to balance the mass of the engine in its nose. Finally, there is its rarity: just 280 275GTB/4s were made between 1966 and 1968.

The car offered here is as good an example of the breed as you’ll find, a 1967 example recently subject to a bare metal repaint and by JD Classics and re trim by Lupi in Italy. Originally registered in 1968 and finsihed in Verde Scuro paint with an orange Connolly hide interior, it spent the first five years of its life in Italy before being exported to the US in 1972 where it was to stay before being brought to the UK in 2012 by Dick Lovett Ferrari via Edward Lovett.  At this point Dick Lovett applied for the Ferrari Classiche Certifcation that accompanies the car today.
